I wanted to start a series here on the blog where I can talk about what’s going on outside of my journals and planners! I want to have a conversation with you about life in general! And, of course, have a cup of tea while doing so! So welcome to “Have Tea With Me!” where I invite you to have tea with me on Saturday mornings! This will be a way for you to get to know me better. And I would LOVE for you to chat back with me via the comments! My aim is to do this every Saturday. So, if you have your tea ready…let’s chat! If not, go do it now, I’ll wait!
This month has been a little stressful so far. Trying to get back into the swing of things after the holidays always is. As some of you may know, I lost my paternal grandmother a month ago. I had to travel home to MS from FL for the funeral. We laid her to rest 2 days before Christmas, which was also my daughter’s birthday, which also happens to be my maternal grandmother’s(who has passed away) birthday. So that day will hold so much meaning and memories for me now. One positive from this was that I got to see some of my family on that side that I haven’t seen in a while. It’s always good to be surrounded by the ones you love.
We came back home on Christmas Eve and had a great Christmas! I cooked dinner for my little family and the kiddies played the day away. My son got the new Diary of A Wimpy Kid book and he finished it that day! He’s a lot like me when I was younger. After Christmas we traveled back to our home state to ring in the New Year with my family! And then back to Florida we came. Traveling with my three kiddies can be stressful, this last trip especially! But we made it home and are now trying to get back to normalcy. Do you find it hard to get back into the swing of things after the holidays?
The kiddies are back in school, the hubby is back to work, and I am back to blogging! I also work a home based business, which didn’t really take a break over the holidays, so that’s been going still! I started the year off with trying to find that “one word” that would encompass my goals for the year. I have never picked one word like this before, have you? If so, comment below with what your “one word” is! After much thought, I decided that my word for the year would be PURPOSE! I want to do things this year that have purpose. I don’t want to do things just for the sake of doing them. I want to remain focused on my goals and do things that will get me closer to achieving those goals. Since then I have been approached with opportunities that I have turned down because, while they would make me some extra money, they would take away from me working towards my goals. I have to stay focused!
Speaking of goals, have you set goals for yourself for the year? This year I actually made a physical vision board that I added into my bullet journal so that I can have it within eyesight at all times. You can see that vision board in this previous post. This spread in my bullet journal is just a visual aspect of my goals. I have a journal (go figure!) where I have written these goals out in long form and have timelines set up for them. I will also use that journal to do check-ins periodically to see how I am progressing. I would love to hear about your goals! Let me know in the comments what your biggest goal is for the year!
I recently watched a webinar and one of the presenters said “Done is better than perfect”. I thought that was such a great statement to live by! I can admit I am a bit of a perfectionist. And sometimes wanting to have things “perfect” can keep me from completing projects or even doing them at all. While I don’t want sloppy work, I do want to get things done! So I have to stop letting the perfection monster keep me from doing that! Nothing we do will ever be perfect. The only perfect thing is the Lord. And none of us can compare to Him. Amen?
Until Next Time…
Thanks for having tea with me today! Next week be sure to have your tea ready to go so we can get to chatting! I will definitely be checking the comments so don’t be shy, chat with me below! I look forward to our next chat! Until next time…
