Guess who’s back?! It’s been a long time…I know! But I’m still here, journaling and planning!
For the month of July, however, planning was nonexistent! In my bullet journal I only have a two page spread for July where I am just going to record some highlights from the month. Now that school is starting back this month I had to get my bullet journal setup. So I thought I’d share my bullet journal setup for August! (August is my birthday month so I’m a little excited about it!)
Over time I have simplified my monthly setup. I have been using the same setup for a while now. If it ain’t broke…right?! This month I went with green and black and white for my color theme. If you know me or have been around for a while, you know it’s my favorite! And it was fitting to go with this for my birthday month!
The first spread is my monthly intro page and my intentions/to do list page. Pretty self explanatory. Each month I pick a color from my Faber Castell Brush Pens to use as a highlighter. This month’s color is Light Green(171). I also use this color for the month in my faith journal!
The next two page spread consists of a “Currently” page and my habit tracker. I’ve only done this Currently page once before so I decided to add it again this month.
After these pages I go into my weekly layouts, which are horizontal week on two pages. I’ve been using this weekly layout forever! Over the almost three years I have been bullet journaling, I have used many different layouts. I feel now I have found what really works for me and have been sticking with it.
So often in this planner/journal community we get caught up with what the next person is doing and we forget all about what has been working for us because…shiny object! Lol Not to say we shouldn’t try new things from time to time! However, if something is genuinely working for you, keep doing it! Just because someone else found a “better way” for themselves doesn’t mean it will work for you.
I’ll hop off my soapbox for now! I’m looking forward to a new month and a new school year for my children! I can’t believe how much they have grown. They are excited as well! I am ready to plan all the things and journal all the memories! And of course…my BIRTHDAY! What are you looking forward to this month?!
